Natural Pectin and Spreadable Confections

A Toast to Jam!

The word is out and we’ve been spreading it like jam on toast, Food Craft Institute Courses are open. If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to own and run your own business making and selling sweet, fruity confections then join us in Jams, Marmalades and Chutneys beginning on April 21, 2012. This is the real deal on not only cooking, but also business basics, tasting techniques, even 4 glorious hours with legendary food scientist Harold McGee. If jelly isn’t your jam, we’re rounding out the Food Craft course offerings with Pickles, Krauts and Ferments beginning in July and Coffee Bar 101 in November, find out all about FCI at http://www.foodcraftinstitute.org.

Get out a pencil because it is spring and you know what that means? Green milkshakes, chocolate toffee matzos and eggs the same color as your grandmother’s hair – but around here it also means that Eat Real Festival dates are announced!

The Oakland Eat Real Festival will be on the stunning Oakland waterfront at Jack London Square on September 21 – 23, 2012 and the LA Eat Real Festival will be held at Americana at Brand in Glendale on October 13 – 14, 2012.
